    Hi guys!
    Some of you might have seen me around before. I've been here since the beginning of Whatthemovie (sort of)
    Lately I have been studying really hard to become a concept artist and I've been using Whatthemovie a lot to do studies.

    I thought it only fair I showed you what I do with them since you're the ones that took the shots.
    Basically I pick shots I really like in composition, lighting and/or colors. I favourite them and pick them up later to study.
    I set a limit of 30 minutes to finish each one and I've done quite a bunch now.

    Below is a set of my favourites. Feel free to comment and let me know what you think.

    Looks pretty talented. Good job. :)
    I always wonder why most artist only make sketches?

    What program do you use?

    @Pzy ,
    I use Photoshop CS5 and a Tablet.
    There are a few reasons why I make a lot of sketches and quick studies;
    Painting quickly is a skill in itself, making the right brushstrokes and picking colors quickly. In the industry it's imperative that you can do this since the work pressure is usually really high and you need to poop out a lot at a limited time.

    Another reason is to stay limber. I agreed with myself to do at least one drawing a day to not lose the edge I have.
    Besides that as a concept artist you need a big visual library. So lots of studies are required to understand shapes, textures, what light does etc.
    Last thing is that as a concept artist it's all about the feeling of the image. You need to be able to quickly put down a feeling, an atmosphere with colors and composition.

    Two cool examples on this from my teacher:

    That's my view on it :)
    EDIT: I don't just make sketches though, I have a bit more detailed work visible here: http://drawcrowd.com/samma
    Anyway, I'm glad you like it!

    Yes I agree. In the end it's hard work but that's what I signed up for. I love doing it :)
