Normally I use vlc... but I had a DVD from a different Zone that wouldn't play. I managed to play it somehow in Windows Media Player.

But when I wanted to capture the screenshot I got a blackscreen instead because of the overlay. Looking on Google most of the hints say this:
"In the media player select Tools from the menu bar, then select Options and select the Performance tab. On this tab, select the Advanced button. On the following page, uncheck the 'Use Overlays' option and then click OK."
I did that but still got my black screen.
Some told me to go To Configuration Panel and lower the acceleration but then the video wouldn't play

I tried to install other players (Zoom Player, PowerDVD, Mediaclassik etc...) but for now only Windows Player plays my DVD

I'm stuck !! And this is a great shot !! Arggg...

If anyone has some help it would be greatly appreciated.

    Should I mail the DVD ? ^^

Or get AnyDVD to get rid of the region coding issue. But it's no freeware.

Maybe it is possible to import the dvd in something like avidemux? And then take a screen shot, it has a frame by frame feature. http://avidemux.berlios.de/index.html
Or try media player classic: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Media_Player_Classic.htm

Tried Cam Studio to record the dvd to AVI and then got black image avi lol

But... after hours of trying, testing, googling... finally found out my solution so thought of sharing it with you guys if anyone has ever this knid of problems !!
Still amazed that WMP11 doesn't have abuilt in screenshot feature !!

    And the winner is:
    Hypersnap: http://www.hyperionics.com/hsdx/index.asp
Go to Capture > Enable Video Capture... and just Print Screen as usual... it rocks ! ;)
