This one is obviously not taken directly from dvd, it has wrong aspect ratio and if you look closely, you can even see the NAME OF THE ACTORS WRITTEN at the bottom of the shot ! http://whatthemovie.com/shot/2789
This shot was posted a long time ago, am I right voting for deletion ?
no just replace it with the real shot or a similar shot don't delete it its one of the first shots on WTM you can't delete those just replace with the right one
I think not, the ratio is not wrong, it just is that way (4:3). I had the same idea for other shot but we agreed it's from dvd and it wouldn't be fair to the uploader...
That's great, but please follow these instructions http://forum.whatthemovie.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=781&page=1 and leave a shout below the shots you replaced to explain why it got replaced. The original uploader has the right to know and he/she may not be visiting the forum.
You're right, the original theatrical aspect ratio was 2.35:1. *BUT* this movie was officially released in a 1.78:1 aspect ratio on some DVDs (yeah, that sucks). Thus the 1.78:1 shots that have nothing else "wrong" shouldn't be updated.
But please note we will only accept OAR replacement shots: No 1.78:1 shot will be accepted as an update to a Se7en shot.
And Se7en isn't the only movie in this case. Sometimes we also have 1.78:1 shots from movies that were only released in a 2.35:1 aspect ratio on DVD. How is this possible? Because some of you use HDTV rips. Which is *NOT* allowed. Those shots can be updated (actually, I think they even should be deleted, just to remind their uploaders what is uploading rule #2). If you want to update such a shot, just make sure there is no DVD release in the 1.78:1 aspect ratio first.
I couldn't see any different with these three last shots, I just think they're old. I replaced them anyway, you can always cancel the replacement: http://whatthemovie.com/shot/597 (damn this shot is not the exactly same shot either, sorry :( ) Old:
#597 really has improved, look at the bottom left for example. At #684 you at least removed some black bars and the colors look slightly better to me too.
