Lately i have the feeling that almost all of my shots get rejected and i have no idea why. That sucks.
Things like http://whatthemovie.com/shot/119003 get rejected, while e.g. every single Audrey Hepburn shot gets throung by rating. Just can't understand that.

I say the voting system in NS isn't that bad.
I also say the Magically Accepted Snap is vital.

Choosing a snap takes some time. We all know that.
I feel it's important for all active players to stay in the game through magically accepted snap process.

Now. Here is my problem.
This is purely emotional.

All my snaps were rejected in the last 15 days.
ALL OF THEM!!!

How is it possible?
I feel like BEING rejected.
I kinda take it personally although I know it's NOT personal.

I'm okay to play the game but we all know it's rare to have a snap accepted in NS through the voting system.
So that's why I'm happy to have a couple of snaps magically accepted from time to time.

I stay in the game along with everybody.
I know there's some mods out there who spot the good snap.

From the 13 snaps rejected in the last 2 weeks, some should have made it for many reasons.

A couple of snaps magically accepted per week.
Enough to keep any players happy.

Now I understand the mods cannot be everywhere.
But let's face it: we lost a great funny player through this process (remember pspan?) and when I browse the rejected snaps of Doooom or RDPL55 (and many others), I say to myself: what happened?

Read me clearly.
It's not about having a snap reaching FF, it's about contributing to the quality and the diversity of the game.

that was not the only reason pspan left, the main reason pspan left WTM because it was a sort of WTM addiction en he wanted to spend more time with his family
so the only way he could do that was going cold turkey and deleted his account.

I'm not questionning the mods here.
We respect them very much.

I'm questionning the uploading system.

There's too much frustration going on.
WTM is a movie-lovers game after all.

So why the frustration?
What's the point?
You don't win anything.

What bothers me the most is this: I don't understand why an active player or a resident player have to see his snaps rejected 2 weeks in a row (sometimes more when I read most of you).

Something is not right!
This is really unfair.

I'm telling ya: after the last 2 weeks, I'm not motivated to upload anything!
Why giving time for nothing? This is absurd!

The actual uploading system is not about sharing.

It's about voting.
It's about selecting.
It's about judging.

Now I reckon there's the Awesome Upload who permits you to skip the painful NS zone.
But 12 AUs per year when you're a resident cannot possibly keep you happy.

We know you can also win AUs inside the Vault.
But the winners are pretty much the same (I'm happy for them: that's not the point here) plus you have to work A LOT to reach the Vault Top 10.

Conclusion.
1. To me the voting system doesn't work as it should.
There's a big misunderstanding about the process: people have a tendency to vote high when they know the snap.

2. The Magically Accepted Snap process give work to the mods and some kind of responsability.
Is this a good idea? I don't know: I'm no mod.

3. Frustration. Anger. Feeling rejected from the community.
Those are the emotions felt by uploaders seeing most of their snaps going down the drain.

I say there should be a new system for uploading shots.
A system based on what the Creators already invented: the WTM BUCKS.
What's the point to win money if you can't spend it?

Buying AUs with WTM bucks is the best idea so far.

I'm sure there would be other ideas if we brainstorm between us.
But do we really want to change anything?
Most important: do the creators want to spend time for this?

I don't know.
But I know for sure I'm going to stop uploading anything for some times.

The real problem to me is about frustration.
Apparently adjusting some of the selecting features will not ease the frustration of being rejected so often.

Man: 2 weeks in a row is definitely too much!
Like you, I don't aim for having as many snaps as possible in FF.
Hell! I'll be happy with one snap per week.

How many players are we btw?
What's the quota for the numbers of shots accepted per day?

I don't know.

But here is another idea (and I don't know if it floods the game).

No voting system.
Each player has ONE AU per week (if he doesn't use it, it doesn't add the next week).
Each resident player has 6 AUs per month.

No more frustration.

I totally agree. It's frustrating sometimes. You do your best to upload a nice shot and it gets more and more difficult to get a shot in FF. And really good shots are getting such a low rating, it's unbelievable. I really don't understand. A few months ago good shots got an 8 + and now it's so difficult to get such a rating. I'll keep uploading, but these last few weeks have been difficult.

@Sebassie1: yep, noticed that latelies. It's kind of weird, cause if you browse my gallery for example you'll get to think I only watch animations cause they're all that get through :P but that's pretty much not what I usually try. But what to say, it's easier to create awesome stuff if it doesn't have to obey budgets and physics, so that's probably not going to change...

@Razzomega: that's a shame, I like your snaps and usually give them a nice high rating =/ but it seems people dun agree with my personal taste and the snaps I like most end up being rejected. Or pushed by magic.

The really most frustrating thing so far is when I upload something that ends up at sixes and I see a few character shots at sevens...
