You all voted, and it was close, but the winning theme for next vault will be "Animals".
The dates: Uploading will start friday January 3rd, at 19:30 WTM-time and will last for one week till the 10th, 19:29. The vault will be open to solving for two weeks, from the 10th till the 24th, 19:30.
Rewards: Uploaders will get the usual awards (awesome uploads for top 10 + memorabilia for top 3).
Regular vault rules: - 1 shot per movie, total - 3 shots for contributors, 2 for non-contributors - No shots that are already in the system - Regular rules for uploading and movies (only from original DVD, crop the black lines, no made for TV / direct to DVD etc.) - Don't post any shots that fit the theme in NS, while the uploading phase is in progress.
The theme (pay attention!): Since the theme is kind of wide, we decided on the following rules: - Only shots containing existing animals: no fairytale creatures, no extinct stuff (i.e. dinosaurs etc.) - The animal must be recognizable in the shot, so no castle carved out of bone or whatever. The bone may have been from an animal at one point, but is no longer recognizable as such. An empty snailhouse for example is fine: even though the actual animal died, it's still recognizable as a snail. - Giant versions of real animals? Allowed! - Animated versions of real animals? Allowed! - Statues/paintings of real animals? Allowed! - Humans? NO! and last but not least: - The animal must be the FOCUS of the shot: so not a small bird flying in the back or whatever, but it must be the most important thing in the shot.
And on a personal note: bat shots usually make me happy :)
@Timpap I have asked myself the same question and probably one of my shots will be erased because of ..."Humans?NO!"... @ the mods: are the rules really that strict?
I did post the rules, so here's my answer. If Zob disagrees, we will see ;)
Humans: NO means that humans do not count here as an animal (whatever the zoological meaning). If you got a big shot of an animal, with a small human running around in the background, I am sure that it is no problem.
