Some guidelines for character shots: - Shot must clearly show character's face - Distinctive elements are welcome (tattoo, birthmark, special outfit/equipment/...), as long as they are not spoilers (don't upload shots of the killer with a mask on, if the character is revealed only late in the movie) - Only character X should be seen on X's character shots. If impossible to do so, make sure that other characters' faces can't bee seen or are obviously of less importance on the shot (much smaller size, out of focus, in the background, ...) - Character must be credited on IMDb (even if not listed in the movie credits)
If you're not sure, ask us: either find a similar shot in the Archive (and post the link here) or upload the shot you're not sure about on a free hosting pic service (and post the link here).
Also remember shots from the Archive can be assigned as character shots, if they match the guidelines above. Therefore, if you think your shot is interesting enough, do try it in New Submissions first.
Because that was never made/coded. All the current actors in the database are there because the character was imported, or because me or Zob have manually added them. If it's only a couple (or from 1 movie), you can send me a shout and I will see if I can find the time tonight to add them. If you just mean always on principle, you'll have to wait until it can get coded.. Sorry about that.
Ah, ok. My question was of a general nature, I have a lot of character shot that are not listed and I can't ask a so heavy job to the moderators ;) I don't like upload character shots without the name of the actor, so... I think I have to wait patiently for the code - and for the kinoute actor database, I love this idea http://whatthemovie.com/actor/scarlett_johansson
Well, that system already works, you just have to manually change the name of the actor to whoever you want to see :) I try to add as much as possible, so they will keep growing, of course.
It would be maybe useful to add somewhere in the instructions that character shot must be, as possible, shots that would have been impossible to upload as FF shots. IMHO, uploading a really awesome shot like for example #368499 as a character shot is a pitty.
I'm cleaning some characters stuff, especially cases when a single shot was assigned to more than one character. In this movie (Citizen Kane), which character has the correct shot? I don't remember the movie in details:
You can ignore Scruffy's shout (and even delete it). The character should be isolated enough in the shot from the other characters to be considered as a valid character shot
