Shutter Island,at the theater, a good movie but I saw the ending coming halfway the movie. Lovely Bones, nice ,not as catching as I thought it would be. From Paris with love, awesome, a must see movie. lot's of action, lot's of humor,John Travolta out did himself again. Fake Identity, boring ,boring, boring, Val Kilmer wasn't the one they should have cast for this one.
"Fourth Kind". A mess. Creepy, yes but absolutely not documented. The guys who commited this flick didn't even read ONE book about the abduction phenomena. They found a couple of informations on the Internet (the owls, the hypnotism), mixed this with some exorcism situation as seen at the movies, blended everything and… voilà!
Book of Eli was quite nice. Some really cool fighting scenes (with a decent amount of gore), and beautiful frames. Gary Oldman plays a great nemesis, and Mila Kunis is (imo) showing some really good acting. I'd tip her as the next big thing in moviebusiness. Only thing that's a bit of a shame is that the 'we need religion for world peace' message is a bit too present during the ending of the movie. Nevertheless, i had a great evening, i'd rate it 7.5/10
no, i think i really mean acting, in a good way. If you see what she did in 70 show, and getting over sarah marshall and now book of eli, you can see she's constantly improving. I mean, you still see Mila Kunis playing a character, but the line is getting thinner every time.
Please: do-not-throw-tomatoes-at-me! Cause I saw "Twilight New Moon". Till the end. Which is not an end and who the hell cares. My jaw droped and stayed there. This flick is a total wreck like, say, a train going down in slow-mo. Fascinating.
one of the perks of being single again is that i don't have to see the rest of the twilight drama. i just barely made it through the first one. Thank god i don't have to see the rest.
Alice in Wonderland, I really didn't like Johnny Depp in it and the story isn't that good, I have expected more from Tim Burton too, it's absolutely not his best!
I'm just back from cinema where I saw Valhalla Rising ("le guerrier silencieux" in French, I'll never understand why we always need to translate the titles...) I'm a big fan of Winding Refn, but I need a little more time to form an opinion on this movie. the second half is totally great, but the first half is f***ing weird. It's really unusual to see a movie without dialogs and without scenario :)
To celebrate St. Patricks Day I've just watched Leprechaun 4: In Space. I actualy thought the movie would be bad, but it was not. It was HORRIBLE. Not even Warwick Davis could save this piece of trash..
3 Days ago Alice in Wonderland I love it! The focus is on the (known) alice story, in a new and modern movie. That is why it works for me.
Yesterday i saw The Shock Labyrinth: EXTREME - 3D... that was funny, not scary. More than once the hole cinema had to laugh, so as a parody it works fine ;)
Friday: Alice in Wonderland: great new version of the old story. Very nice! Yesterday: Moordwijven. A dutch movie. Not great, but I loved Bracha van Doesburgh
[Rec]² and Splice in a series in cinema yesterday, Rec 2: Impressive! But i missed the first one, so the hand camera zombie action was new to me and i was able to ignore some strange story parts ;) Splice: Not as good as expected...
Got the day off and got really bored so I watched: AvP, It's Alien and Predator in one movie, so no complaints there Pandorum, liked it although a few minutes into the movie I realised it was Dennis Quaid who played luitenant Payton and I really do not like Dennis Quaid And watched 30 days of night again, that one never gets boring :)
