"La legion saute sur Kolwezi" (Raoul Coutard, France 1980) In May 1978, the mining town of Kolwezi in Katanga, Zaire (now Democratic Republic of Congo, the former Belgian Congo) is under attack from a group of communist guerillas coming from nearby Angola. Many of the Europeans being French, the French decide to organize a counter-attack, and to send a Regiment of Paratroopers from the Foreign Legion. The movie follows the stories of Delbart, a former non-commissioned officer, who was about to go back to France with his African wife and his child, Damrémont, who was Delbart's replacement, Bia, a Zairian doctor, and Annie, an American married to a Belgian engineer as well as Non com Legion officer Federico and the French Ambassador and the Military Attaché. Adapted from true events a movie to the glory of French foreign legion like in the 30’s… quite good indeed. 7/10
"The Naughty Shutter" (Sammy Helm, USA 1963) A camera that is the center of attention takes polaroids of clothed people, resulting in magically nude photos -so far so good, but later the same camera pointed at members of a nude sun worshipers association supposedly creates images of them with clothes on, a completely illogical concept -it is one thing to suspend disbelief and imagine the camera making something disappear. But how does a mechanical photography device create the fabric not present on a nude woman? Ultra cheap early nudy only for connoisseurs. 5,5/10

"Kipling's Women" (Fred Hudson, Larry Smith, USA 1961) One of the first of the Nudies to gain wide-spread showing in the U.S.This film purports to be an adaptaton of Rudyard Kipling's poem “The Ladies." "Not Tonight Henry" (W. Merle Connell, USA 1960) "Not Tonight, Henry" was a large step up in quality for director W. Merle Connell in that it was in color and also not just a static-camera filming of a burlesque show inside of one of L. A.'s smoky, grind house burlesques. The girls were still out of burlesque, as were Hank Henry and Little Jack Little: Hank Henry is more than a little frustrated at the "lack of attention" he is getting at home from his wife and starts dreaming up amorous escapades with sirens from the past... Cleopatra, Josephine, Delilah and others. Most end in some old burlesque skit or blackout gag, but Henry makes the history rounds. While he is dreaming, his wife is reading a book about the great lovers of history. An early nudie in color quite funny. For fans of the genre. 6/10
"Suivez cet homme" (Georges Lampin, France 1963) Two investigations in this movie perhaps thouth to be re(used for TV ? the first one : in a seedy house on the wrong side of town ,in a place with mildewed walls ,there lives a pawnbroker .Her apartment is packed with valuable stuff. One day, she's poisoned and there are two suspects : her husband she left and who, short of the readies ,wanted her to give him some money; a depraved person ,a girl who used to work for her ,actually her lover and her victim. The Second one : a jeweler is arrested by two cops in uniform but it seems to be a miscarriage of justice ;it's all the more strange since shortly after we see the two policemen stealing jewels from the shop. A curious movie with some unusual violence for that time. Bernard Blier makes the job. 6/10

Meanwhile Tony calls Captain Lesgate (aka Charles Alexander Swann who studied with him at college) and blackmails him to murder his wife, so that he can inherit her fortune. "Sextet" (Bud Irwin, USA 1964) A cryptic nudi cuty from early 60’s with Pauly Dash who makes faces while girls parade topless across the screen. Much of the action concerns his daydreaming or fully unconscious fantasies of being served hand and foot by six lightly clad beauties, hence the title. "Crime & Punishent, USA" (Denis Sanders, USA 1959) The series Columbo, which came out a decade later, is very similar to this movie: A slick, handsome, pompous killer being complimented into submission by a seemingly helpful, everyman cop, appearing as a good friend (and at times an inept investigator) while his unaware culprit "helps him" solve the case: unknowingly implicating him in the process. That's because Frank Silvera's character is based on the cop in Fyodor Dostoevsky's source novel, Crime and Punishment, who is the same character Peter Falk's Columbo is based on. A curious adaptation of the famous Dostoiesky’s Novel. Quite interesting. 7/10
