Saw IB too. Loved it. Waltz was amazing (oscar maybe?). And how they handled the languages was great. The germans are real germans. A really really great thing.

    Saw Blindness http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0861689/ yesterday.
Impressive movie, very good idea, and amazing directing. Julianne Moore is so perfect... And Gael García Bernal really good as an insane bastard !

In my opinion Christoph Waltz and Mélanie Laurent are really deserving an oscar! Both were amazing and at the same level.

@ tliff: youre right! and that is why you can't watch this film in German. You have to watch it in English (and German subtitles if you want). The way I see it IB shouldn't be dubbed at all because three languages are coexisting equally: English, German & French. And that is really great and makes this movie so authentic.

I can only agree. Waltz and Laurent really are outstanding. The other actors most are amazing, too (maybe with the exception of BJ Novak). The coexistence of the four languages (even if they do not speak too much Italian) makes the movie very special and I cannot imagine how a dubbed version may do the film justice at all.
I really enjoyed watching IB, one of the best films I have seen in cinema for a long time.

I do not agree. Mélanie Laurent is really bad in Inglorious Basterds. She's probably the worst thing in the movie. Just my opinion. But I liked movie/ I think the movie is missing something to be a great movie. I don't know what it is ...

Last movie I've seen is Wait until dark with the great Audrey Hepburn and the great Alan Arkin.

It is not the new Tim Burton, he only produced it ;) (he is only one of the producers even) so you can't really call it the new Tim Burton since his involvement was limited!
But would still love to see it :)

Saw "Up" yesterday. I really loved it! Such an amazing movie. It was often funny and sometimes sad. It had numerous genius scenes and ideas! And the visuals were great as always (even in 2D).
Next week I'm going to watch it again (maybe in 3D).
And I can't wait for the DVD! There are so many beautiful shots in that movie. :)

P.S.: The short film "Partly Cloudy" was hilarious, too!

I'm loving arthouse movies, but last week was blockbuster-week ;): watched "Inglorious Basterds" at the cinema and "Gran Torino" at home...
Inglorious Basterds was really Tarantin-esque; great dialogues, but really gruesome from time to time. The settings and the details on the other hand, are really terrific and so are some of the actors. Really loved the very beginning of the movie: that piece was great!

Gran Torino was also really nice, pity that the most brilliant acting is -yeah, maybe an 'of course' is at it's place here... ;)- from Clint Eastwood himself...
