Since I liked the first contest ( http://forum.whatthemovie.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=384 ) so much, and I have just browsed my DVD library for new shots to upload, I stumbled upon a recurring theme, which we could turn into a contest!

cool, I should be able to participate this time :) Btw, I actually discovered I had not one but 2 shadow shots I could have used at the time of the last contest, just forgot about them, duh! Count me in this time :)
Well, Could I have your attention please, I want to complain about this contest.
Actually, I'm really upset: this is the second WTM contest and, just like for the first one, I'll be on holidays (untilthe 10th of august!!), far from my DVD collection, so I won't be able to participate... I've prepared a few stills on my laptop (I never get out of my home without a few stills, I'm afraid I'm WTM addict...), but nothing coresponding to the contest's theme, so I'd like to know: which of you has a direct access to my f*** diary?? :)
P.S.: them00ch, I think I could have guessed which movie you would choose ;-)
Am I that predictable :( I actually had a couple of screens from movies that I have never posted before, but someone had already uploaded for those movies this week :(
Don't want to be a jackass, but I uploaded an almost exact copy of http://whatthemovie.com/shot/27151 a couple of months ago, and it got rejected then.
So if it passes this time around, it'd be weird. No hard feeling them00ch ;)
I think i've got a great idea for a next contest.. I realised last week while watching some older movies (80's and 90's in this case) that a lot of the actors were smoking on screen in those days (for example in the movies ghostbusters, escape from new york etc etc) How about a SMOKING HEROES competition!?!? (and yeah.. i'm a smoker myself...)
Sometimes a picture just doesnt make it because it was posted at the wrong time. ie it was up against high quality opposition etc.. perhaps now more people have seen the movie as well. This was taken from a blu-ray instead of a dvd, so maybe its slightly better quality or something too. Just guessing.
Anyway, it might not make it yet. If it does please dont hold it against me, I was not aware this was posted once already.
I can't participate on this contest. Of all the movies I can think of which have a nice shot of a TV (or similar) in it, I already uploaded two movies of, or it's been posted already.
There is one movie though which might have a great one, but I have to rent that. We'll see. But right now I have absolutely no idea.
@Deviant i'll talk with naut and perhaps we can something out to consider contest participation seperately and allow it to circumvent the limits as we are also thinking about having these kinds of contest a bit more regularly, why not change the uploading to reflect that? ;)
Maybe you could use that "newspaper" tool to tell people about the contest. It may be that some people simply do not understand the tags and delete them because they think the tags don't fit..?
Thanks to all for your compassion, be sure I'll warn you before my next holidays. Just notice that I usually go for lunch everyday between 12h30 and 13h30, if you want to organize a flash contest ;-) But hey, I just read your ideas about the next contest themes, so I'll prepare my shots, and then, MY REVENGE WILL BE TERRIBLE, AH AH AH AH AH!!!

I think the current system is fair, you just have to have an eye for what the masses want, ie a reasonably easy but still awesome looking screen. A jury of sorts would be even worse, may be biased etc.. public vote scores are the best IMO.
O, ok, but what does this means exactly? My last one didn't have time to get voted a lot. And, can we start uploading new ones as usual? my first one was about to move to the FF so I was getting ready to post a new one again... No I'm not addicted...
