General: The shots are gone?

    Is it just me or do you also noticed the absence of certain shots?

    I always read reviews about these events, but I think it is happening more frequently now, most movies that I watch the page has lost one or two shots (missed, not not up yet).

    Why is this happening? You can delete own profile? And when that happens the shots are given away too? It was the only explanation I found ...

    when you delete your profile your shots stay posted by "deleted user"

    maybe they were vote deleted?

    To be honest, I do have the same feeling lately. Some shots which I thought were posted quite a while ago and should be in the archive and if I look at the movie page, they are gone. But it maybe just my imagination, hard to say :)

    Well I have the same feeling.
    A good example is http://whatthemovie.com/shot/40544
    I was quite sure, that it has been uploaded, but since I haven't found it in the archive neither via tag-search I uploaded it.

    You're absolutely right holynoise. This one was posted about a year ago. I remember solving it then.

    I think there were a lot of pictures lost in the transfer of wtm 1.0 to wtm 2.0

    for example when wtm 2.0 started there were no more The Prestige shots.

    It wasn't only in the migration ... I remember this shot http://whatthemovie.com/shot/39070it was posted already in wtm 2.0, but somehow got lost and was posted again recently.

    It passed up my head, is that people are deliberately deleting old shots?

    Maybe a few shots were deleted in the meantime, for quality reasons... but not that much. I also have noticed that shots were missing, but I don't worry too much about it. After a while they'll get reposted and the fun can start all over again.
    (This is particularly good with shots of 2001 a space odyssey, because now we can continue posting shots of it even though the whole film was already on WTM :D)
