Okay for the end of 2009 :) my question is should we do a formula based on the ratings, or should we just choose one everyone one of us and vote ? I like better the 2nd idea but that's just me :P
Maybe take the top ten or twenty best voted shots (with at least x votes and y favorites), then have a seperate vote over these shots over a span of one week, where the scores are reset and everybody can vote again?
+ the contest snapshots should count too, especially the side quests since the shots are taken directly from FF, it would be a shame not to take them into account :)
Selecting the best shot based on rating could maybe be a bit tricky because rating of shots only started end of may and also changed a lot during this period, the average rating is a lot higher now then it was before (solvers count 3x and strategic voters have been caught etc). So this may need some more thinking maybe. (maybe its an idea to nominated a few shots from every month and contest and let everyone then choose the best one (somehow)...

my personal record is 5 favorites. Nothing compared to bazzy. however, i wish to get credit for another feat. i posted a shot of a top 30 (in imdb top 250) movie, and it only got 40 solves. Can anyone beat that?
a bit off topic: i posted a shot which was solved 2050 times - can anyone beat that? and i also posted a shot from a movie with more than 100 000 votes on imdb, but it only got 19 solves.
I did a personal best of 2008 in January, see http://forum.whatthemovie.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=111 Because there were so many great shots I used some categories. Maybe this could be done here, too. Why not do a best of 2009 in the form of contes(s). Something like everyone can submit three own shots he/she likes for different categories. Or everyone can go through his favored shots of other players and submit the three he/she likes best (maybe again by using categories). I for myself like the second one better. I would rather have other players choose if I have a worthy shot for the best of 2009.
maybe if there's been done a best shot for 2009 or a hall of fame for shots it would be nice to have a few categories, like best visual shot, best clue/puzzle/important detail shot and best classic shot. It could maybe be fun to have this every month or something with wtm 2.5... just some ideas...
Fabiocabeca, I really like the idea of WTM oscars. This could indeed be done every year in different categories, and an oscar memorabilia would really be cool.
