as announced in the news, we switched to an all new queuing system this night.

    So, how does it work?
    ---
Every submited movie is now queued for 48 hours. Every moderator is able to vote
whether the shot should be posted or rejected. After 48 hours, the system simply counts
    the votes.

    What are my advantages?
    ---
No more waiting for your shots! After 48 hours passed, your shot is released or you receive
a mail with a disapprove reason.

    ~
    enjoy

Sounds great naut, but what about the screens we've already uploaded?

    quote "FAQ"
    > The general difficulty of the shot is too hard.
Solving movies on whatthemovie should be possible by everybody. The movie nerd, but also the guy how goes to cinema only once in a while.
We don't want to become a "nerd" platform. Films which have less than 1.000 votes on IMDB have to be either real good, or on the right place, in the right time :) (e.g. following 10 easy shots)

Frankly speaking, referring to the uploads of the last weeks, in my opinion WTM is kinda becoming a nerd platform.
Don't get me wrong ... I still like it ... but according the low scores ... :-/

says the person, whose stills remain unsolved for daaaays ;)

i agree, the last uploads were kind of hard, and judging from the number of people who managed to guess the title, i'm not alone. it's still a lot of fun though ;)

I guess when screenshots or stills are taken from famous and/or popular movies, the shots can be a bit more difficult...
If you choose to upload a movie of which you (ought to) know it's less known to the general public anyway, it seems
more fair to choose a still that shows a key character or plot element.

I think there's a glitch in the new system.

Between <http://whatthemovie.com/beta/movies/view/7641> and <http://whatthemovie.com/beta/movies/view/7816> I uploaded 16 stills. None of them are online. It's hard to believe that you think that they're all crap - based on my history of almost 99% accepted stills. ;)

Since I never got an e-mail with a disapproval reason I suppose they never entered your approval process.

Woah, lots of comments in the last days :) have to answer a lot of stuff.

I'll start off with Sara: At the moment we're 5, tliff, asid, Sturmination, Zanapher and me.
But don't count on tliff, he's is (he should :) be more involved with coding rather than checking new films.

I don't know if it's a result of the new queuing system, but for 48hours now, I can't see any picture at all. I always get a blackscreen whether I use the overview or the one snapshot screen. :(

I'm not sure whether it's the result of the new queuing system or is it my computer's fault, but the new stills appear on previous pages. I have no idea why and how to fix it, but it brings a bit of chaos to guessing...

I don't like the new queueing system because since it appeared, there are to much movies. Too much movies means that you don't take time to think about one, you just think you'll find the next one (and it's the same for the next one). Too much movies means that you'll never take time to think about the one you never solved. Too much movies meens not enough selection of good shots : a good shot is one from a movie you didn't see but you found because of the clues in the shot.

I used to find WTM a great site but since the new queueing system, i find it boring and repetitive.

Too much of a good thing kills the good thing (and makes you a fat person).

I tend to agree with louisbloque...
I found it better when there weren't that many movies to solve at a time, so we could really work a bit harder on the ones available.
For instance, now if you don't find the name of the movie, you're not going to come back later because there'll be too many new ones that you haven't checked.

Maybe a limit of 20 (or maybe 30 but then there should be more easy ones) new screenshots per day would be good. I know more than that are posted each day, but we could be a bit more strict when reviewing and queue the surplus (later when the accepted queue gets too big we can reduce it by picking only the best shots available).

Also I'm not so fond of the 30 days limit (I think it was better when it was 15 days so we had less snapshots to focus on), but that has already been discussed and apparently most people considered it an improvement so...

    Thanks for support Zanapher,

Personnally, I never use the "show solution" button, cause I've got my life time to see new movies and solve old screenshots on WTM.

I also think that a daily limit of screenshots would be better.

I submitted a movie sometime between Friday night and Saturday morning (can't quite remember), but it stills hasn't shown up, and I haven't received any mail telling me it was refused... Am I just too impatient or is there something wrong?
