I wanted to upload a snapshot for a character, but when I went further the character didn't appear in the list. So I went back to the movie and used the "add new" on the characters page, but I was never asked to fill in the actor's name. I got to enter the character's name though and was able to upload the snapshot. Is there a special way to link an actor to a character? Or how come it wasn't in list ?
The movie I'm talking about is Touch of Evil (1958) (http://whatthemovie.com/movie/touch_of_evil) and the character is Police Captain Hank Quinlan (http://whatthemovie.com/movie/touch_of_evil/character/39831). The actor is Orson Welles (who is also the director, could that be the reason for it not appearing?)

I have had the same problem, when you add new characters you don't have to tell who the actor is :S, but if they already are in the database the actor appears.
The problem is that we take actors and characters from the wonderful site http://www.themoviedb.org/ and the actor information only works if it comes from that site.
We dont have a good solution for that yet but in the meantime you can sign up at http://www.themoviedb.org and edit it there, wtm will pick it up after some time. The data those guys have is really great and it's free (as in speech). Plus as far as they know they are also looking for shots from movies and I think our community might help them out there ;)
Thanks for your answers. After giving a look at that other site it seems Orson Welles is correctly added as an actor out there, I guess WTM will pick it up at some point then, I only hope it's not going to mess with the fact that I added the same character already.
