I thought you did get some AU for being number 4 in a contest, but maybe it has changed? I'm talking about the food and drinks contest where I haven't got any AU :)!

Idea: a contest with the avatars of the players. The snapshots would be the avatars of people here.
For example, the response of the shot with my avatar would be Toy Story.

There's just the little problem that every shot is having some kind of perspective. That's an extremly vage topic.
My personal favorites for a contest would be:
Silhouettes
Stairs
A stairs contest would probably be difficult, but a very interesting theme. -
More ideas
Westerns (a thematic contest beacause it's very difficult to go to FF for them...)
Sherifs (shots with tin stars...)
face to face (two characters facing in the same shot)
I'm falling !! (shots with people falling...)
"baisers de cinéma" (the most beautifull, terrific, erotic... or pathetic kisses !!)
tramps
drug party (shots witrh people injecting illicit substances in thier veins, smoking strange cigarettes or sniffing white powder...or else)

I was just having a look in the Vault and browsing through the 'draw the movie' shots... That looks like so much fun!! Unfortunately, I hadn't discovered WTM yet at that time :-(
Can't we just do a contest like that again? I'm sure everyone still has lots of inspiration...
Or for a slightly different angle: a 'sweding' contest. Where everyone re-enacts their favourite movie scene and takes a snapshot (photo) of it. I really liked #45934 and #47081 in the draw the movie contest... -
I believe there are plans for another one, as the contest really was a lot of fun. I think a lot of people agree that it should become an annual contest. Still have a lot of ideas for future contests personally. :)

"bearded" guys (girls ??) with the most terrifics beard or moustaches...
"haircuts" the same with the most extrravagants haircuts you can find...
"fog" foggy shots
"olookbirdies" shots with birds. ;)
"bite me!!" shots with mighty teeth...
and the winner is "garage" shots with garage doors ;D -

Yes, I like it too @theoffice911, but with these types of themes there has to be someone screening the shots and remove all the 'great looking shots with no weird hairdo' from the contest. My guess is with a contest like this there will be a lot of normal hair dudes/dudettes with a great background/setting/titties. This is, however, not the purpose of the contest. If you catch my drift.
I also like the idea of @Aril, imitating scenes! However this must be with yourself/friends and not a drawing. -

Idea: The shot at 42:42 (42 min 42 sec) of a movie. You can't choose the pic, just the movie. It will be pretty random, some will be easy, some really hard, some nice, some ugly but all fun I think. -

dont know if the shots at 42:42 are funny or not. But it would be really funny to watch with a secret cam some people taking a look at all his movies what is to see at 42:42. I think some need a new player after this contest, because the eject button is broken =) -
42:42 is a bit dull, let's make it 65:65 :)

But it's hard to check for the moderators if a shot is exactly taken after 42:42 minutes into the movie. If they don't know the movie they aren't able to check it and even if they do and own the dvd it would still need some effort. Not to mention that there are a lot of movies with different dvd versions.

I agree with you doooom but I think most people won't cheat because then the theme would be useless. I think you should put a little trust in the wtm players that take the effort to upload. The problem with different dvd versions is also a minor one because it's the idea that counts. and if there is another version with another shot, so what? it will still be a 42:42 shot of this specific dvd.

I agree with dooom, knowing the number of checking we do and wrong shots we delete each contest, I dont think this would work and from experience, some people cannot be trusted, sad but true. It is a good idea though but we need a thema where we can have a certain level on control to make sure people aren't cheating and this one doesn't fall into that category :( -

Time for a reboot of this topic!
I want any good ideas you have for a nice topic for a contest, a week from now I'll see and make a decision or a poll, letting you choose from my selection of best topics.
Remember, the topic needs to be:
- new*
- specific enough to avoid confusion
- broad enough to allow for enough different movies
*: It's okay to repeat suggestions from earlier in this topic that didn't make it, but we don't want stuff like "Ooh, I want another draw the movie" or "A second product placement contest will be nice!"
And remember, we want a topic for a full contest, for which you upload yourself, so not just a vault sidequest where one person collects the shots from FF. -
I'll stick with an old suggestion: Creepy Animals.
I'm thinking of insects, reptiles, bugs, bats and things nobody knows what they are. But I guess it's difficult to narrow the term down in order to avoid cute cats and dogs pictures. -

I still think that an old idea merits inclusion, which would be something with animals. This could be split into normal animals (cats dogs etc) and fantasy animals (dragon, unicorn etc) imho.
