Hey everyone,
naut and tliff just saw fit to promote me to be a "contest admin". Basically this means that I am responsible to always have a contest or sidequest going on in the vault.
For this I would like to ask you for ideas for a topic for a new contest. After a while, when there are enough suggestions, I will pick the ones that come up most often and seem to be liked best, and do a poll which will decide the final topic.
When the topic is decided, there will be a certain amount of time to look for shots and upload them, and then probably weeks of solving. After this contest will be a new sidequest, hosted by me; more to come on that later. -

Congratulations to your promotion Asmoadai.
I'll start with some ideas:
1) Unusual animals (maybe it will be necessary to define a list which animals are usual)
2) References of famous scenes of other movies
3) Goofs -
I'll second the goofs / bloopers /mistakes
(+congrats ;) ) -
A few old suggestions:
Cameo's bij directors or other famous people
Split-screens
Smoking in movies -
"Coffee or Cigarettes"
make it sound like the movie Coffee and Cigarettes, and post snapshots about smoking and coffee.
Also another ideas is "Stairs".
There are so many classic shots with people looking down stairs..it might be difficult yes. :) -

I think about "Eye contest". There are always some cool close ups for eyes in films. So why not? :) -

2. mirrors / reflections (mirror, window etc.) -

why not snapshots with actors which only appers once in the movie and just say one line.

I think a food/eating/drinking contest would be great!
other thoughts:
- hair/crazy haistyles
- aquatic life/underwater shots (maybe wait untill Océans is out on DVD ;))
- maybe "people in strange positions" (e.g. flying, falling, upside down...)
i like the music idea^^ -

Naut is gone for a few days so to answer your question: yes. -
I like some of the animals ideas. Bugs, snails, cats and dogs, birds... Reflections and smoking sound like a cool idea too!
Keep em coming, people :) The most heard ones will be in a poll next saturday, after which the poll runs for one week. -
I think snails might be too restrictive now since we posted quite a lot already with the recent invasion :)
But making the theme larger with something with small animals including bugs, snails, spider, anything of that kind. Or all animals people generally have phobia of -

Those shots often get a negative reception, so it would be nice to pay a little tribute.
Goofs is also a good idea. -

- police cars of different countrys and different times
- rainbow (coulors)
- tattoos
- flowers
- labyrinths
- spirals
- reflections
- drawings and paintings in movies
- famous pieces of art
- famous buildings
- floors and ceilings
- split screen
- smoking
- it's in her/his eyes (close-up of eyes with something special like a reflection) -

I could live with gore and splatter. -
I like those ideas :
- eyes
- lips
- gore
And I think it would be cool to have
- sound source (anything from jukebox, radio etc... might include or not phones, alarm clock)
- cell phones (and how they always fail in horror movies :P) -
I think animals are good idea. And since Apple wasn't allowed for Product Placement contest we can do a "people using computer" theme.

Frames with people holding guns or roses/other flowers or both. -

I like the eye, guns and roses ideas. The tears might be interesting too but i would like to amplify it with something like "very strong emotions".
I also would enjoy a bloody contest, might be fun ^^.
- A "Seven deadly sins" theme.
- Sky or skyline
- Landscape
- Famous places
On the graphic side :
- Frame inside the frame,
- Symmetry or perspectives ( because symmetry might be too narrow) -
symmetry and geometric shapes would work better together, perhaps?
