I hate Spring and if some people hate Christmas, I hate Easter even more: cold, rainy, damp, windy and yet there are sun and flowers at the same time... For the last few days I haven't been in the mood of going out at all. I just want to stay at home and watch movies. The problem is that I cannot really find what I'm in the mood for. So, that's why I'm asking for advice and opinion. I'm looking for two types of movies: feel-good movies and VERY good thrillers (not horror movies). Is there anything you would recommend and/or suggest?
Thanks a million for your help.
EDIT: Silly me, I found the way to edit - at last ^_^
Garden State always works for me. Starts out on a bit of a downer, but give it some time. It never fails to get my spirits up. I wrote a review on it a while ago, if you want to know a bit more.
Another feel-good movie I love: Cashback. Great great. Big Fish, Love Actually, the boat that rocked, Stardust, Grease. Thrillers: seven, the shining, jagged edge, cape fear, phonebooth, disturbia, silence of the lambs.
Have fun, 2 more days and it's back to normal again.
I'm not too hot on thrillers, but I think "memories of murder" would fit your requirements http://whatthemovie.com/movie/salinui_chueok . It's probably my favourite detective story, and it's all based on true events. It's a bit of a slow-burner though. I would personally rate it above seven/se7en. Cliche maybe but take your pick of any number of great Hitchcock thrillers. Psycho, North-by-northwest, rear window (probably my personal favourite hitchcock) , the man who knew too much (the Jimmy Stewart version), Frenzy etc etc etc.
EDIT: to add Once as a great feel-good movie with some brilliant music http://whatthemovie.com/movie/once . Recommended to me by a friend on WTM, I loved it.
One of my personal favorite feel-good movies is The Wackness http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1082886/ . I guess you have to like the music (early 90s hip hop) to really enjoy the movie though, as the soundtrack is a very prominent element in this movie, and one of the reasons I love it. :)
