Due to lots of request I have decided to surprise you all with a Gore-themed contest. So bring on all your gory, bloody, loose bodyparted shots, and enjoy! Regular rules count (no hints, 3 shots per contributor, 2 for others, top 10 will win awesome uploads) Uploading will start a week from now, Saturday may 29th at 20.00 CEST and solving will start a week later (june 5th) at 20.00 CEST, and will also last ONE week.
I will request that everyone takes a good look at which shots they upload, because we will check strongly for quality etc. I also will ask you to choose shots that are at least a bit identifyable, but I am going to trust your judgement for that :) Because this theme is quite broad, there will be chances that us mods will decide a shot does not fit with the theme, uploader will recieve a shout for this and has a chance to upload a new shot as soon as possible.
Uuuuh I always close my eyes in the worst blood-and-parts-all-around scenes in the movies. I'm gonna be a complete failure xD that's what you get for being a chicken...
hey, nice! A Contest is always fine ;) I think it is not an easy theme (to find "awesome" shots), but after the last voting it is a good choice. I've just no idea what i should upload :D My first thought was http://whatthemovie.com/shot/69119 , but that is already in ff - doh! ;)
I had been intending to save http://whatthemovie.com/shot/82833 for a possible gore contest, but then I ran low on shots so I posted it anyway. Oh well, plenty of choice in my collection!
oh yes.. this will be very nice.. and myst.. i'm not at home that day!!!!! this wil suck ass if my slots have been taken.. i'll find something in the end i'm sure of it! but i'm looking forward!
Look. I'm gonna say the truth. What I feel. Themes are to wide. The contests need to be MORE specific. Gore is gore, okay. But it will be nice to organize contests with... ready?... AN ANGLE! What I call AN EDGE! A CONCEPT if you want to be more hype. Or A CLICHE, excuse my french, but could be a nice twist.
Like (I toss a couple of ideas but I have a million more):
- The '"Watch Out He's Behind You!" contest. How many times we have seen that shot? The monster, slasher, psychopath, kid is coming at ya and we, poor audience, are the only one to know.
The "Oh My God He Has A Weapon!!!" contest. Get the idea? He/she got a knife, gun, baseball bat, axe whatever behind his/her back.
The "Damned! I Hit A Grocery Store" contest. EVERY car chase has this obligatory scene: the fruits/vegetables hit and run cases.
If you want to go gore you can launch the "I'm Loosing My Head" contest, for example. The good news is you'll have less snaps, more edgy pics and a theme that cannot suffer any discussions.

The problem with "less snaps" is that we have over a hundred people wanting to upload shots, many of those that don't have the dvd-library that some of us lucky ones can count on. Therefore, it would be a shame to make a contest so specific that there are only 20 or 30 shots that really fit.
Forget the "less snaps" fear dear Asmodai. Don't be afraid: I'm here, right behind you! ;)
I hardly believe we'll end up with 20 or 30 snaps for a contest! Wild uploaders are lurking around!!! I trust the vast creativity and knowledge of the community.
With a right angle like "There's A Hand On My Shoulder" contest or "It Hurts Only When I Laugh" contest (with gore shots only), I'm sure uploaders will find the perfect snaps. I can post a trillion of ideas but you have to ask me to brainstorm on a specific topic.
I haven't started finding snapshots yet, but I'm really going to try and get three filthy disgusting gut-turning snapshots from films that really aren't horror, because I'd like the juxtaposition.
Of course, failing that I'll break out the B-movie splatter fests and go wild, but that's only if my original plan doesn't pan out.

This will be my first participation to a contest (beside sidequests...) and I already have my two shots in mind. Can there be more than one shot for one single movie ?
Yes I'm not a supporter. And I know I said on the appropriate topic that I will try it for six month, and I will, but it was mainly because I wanted to upload a third shot for a movie for which I have already used my two slots, but I realized yesterday that that third shot has already been uploaded. About the contest I think it's gonna be very hard for me to get even one of the two slots because the shots are from very popular movies and also because I'm not gonna be able to upload any thing before saturday night... :s
after being 10th, 8th and 5th in the previous contests, i think i should go for the top 3 this time. :P some of you guys are crazy movie geeks though, so it's probably going to be almost impossible. :>
Fabster. You should watch the MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE trilogy plus the DVD bonuses (and all Tom Cruise movies including COCKTAIL) while I'm going to play this contest.
