It's been discussed before but I think it's worth a thread now.
Some movies have been entered twice in the database. I don't know how this happened, probably some stubborn users who wouldn't believe the movie was already there. ;)
Is there any way tliff could remove those duplicate entries from the WTM database ? Or maybe just lock them so that uploads are not allowed ? Or edit them into movies that are not in the database yet ? (that won't work for the last movie, though)
Yeah, but I think that's not the same issue. There's only one Devil's Tomb link, even if it appears 6 times. Which means there's probably only one movie page. "Probably" because I can't access this page anyway: Error 500.
Whereas movies listed above have actually 2 pages each.
on a sidenote: don’t know if you guys know this already: since our last update you’re able to change name/year/imdb of movies if you’re at least a Set Decorator.
@naut: Where do you do that? We could just change the movies into their real name.. I am a Cinematographer and should be able to change the things, I thought it was under "info" ?
I know it's a bit off topic, but I think this would be a nice feature if some players were able to add the official dvd release date of the movies, according to IMDB, just to avoid snapshots uploaded several weeks too soon
@Misterzob:I have changed the titles of the movies except the Underworld, then there will not be duplicate pictures anymore. I have corrected them with the title they are linking to.
june 2009 I had some problems with adding the movie in WTM. When I uploaded the movie I got an error. So I tried several times. That could be the reason why there are 6 entries.
Argrrrr.... Apparently, I've created 2 movie entries for "Pandora and the Flying Dutchman", don't know how.... I've just discovered the fact when I wanted to upload the title shot..... http://whatthemovie.com/movie/pandora_and_the_flying_dutchman Is someone can help me, please ?!
I don't think there is anything to worry about here, I think it is just being shown twice when you search for it, there appears to only be one entry for the movie, so just choose either.
To prove it, I just edited the abstract for one of the search results to say "insert abstract here". Clicking on both search results shows the change affected both. So I'm pretty sure you can just choose either, and it's just the search display that is showing it twice.
No there wasnt a problem, you just uploaded a shot to the wrong movie, the 1994 version (which is a valid film) :) Perhaps we can see if tliff can move the shot to the correct movie.
