You beat me MisterZob, I wanted to post the same thing. I addition I requested to shots http://whatthemovie.com/shot/102501 and http://whatthemovie.com/shot/102507 to be deleted, they are definitely not character-shots.

As for movies with the most uploads, you have to do some research :).
Maybe Tliff can post the top10 as it is right now? (please?)

@doooom: "Why aren't this shots shown in the character section of the movie page?"

just a guess: I think if you upload shots without activating the character, they are not shown. It may be useful to activate a character without a shot (e.g. to fav this character), but I think as soon as a shot is uploaded the character should be activated automatically to avoid this problem (in case I guessed right and this is the problem ;)

Edit 2: Wow, did you do all that manually? Just for me? *blushing*

@energ, I meant top ten movies, but that's an awesome collection so thanks anyway!

    @rulo - Thanks!
Interesing stuff, though not quite surprising - 3 Kubricks, all the rest are recent. 9 Americans. No b/w.
I'd might think there's more than 1 animation.

Here are a few prominent series (hope I didn't forget anything) (FF and NS not included)
Name - total shots (shots for top movie - top movie number)

    Harry Potter - 171 :-O That's probably more than all shots till 1940... (39 - V)
    Alien - 151 (51 - I)
    Star Wars - 147 (38 - V)
    Star Trek - 143 (34 - XI)
    LotR - 141 (53 - II)
    Indiana Jones - 141 (42 - I)
    Matrix - 124 (54 - I)
    PoC - 124 (50 - III)
    X-Men - 111 (33 - IV)
    Shrek - 73 (29 - II)
    Austin Powers - 64 (26 - III)

    I have a little question.

We already have the "nudity" and "gore" tags that allow people who doesn't want to see shots that contain that kind of material to "hide them".

My idea would be to ad a another tag called "spoiler". There are many shots on WTM that spoils the ending / certain scenes of movies that people have yet to see. So my idea would be to add the tag on shots that the uploader feel spoils something important in the movie.

I don't understand how it would work. That means you wouldn't be able to see a shot (assuming you turned that filter on) because the uploader tagged it "spoiler"? But what if you've seen this movie, which makes the shot not a spoiler to you?

Yea, plus question also would be: Where does a Spoiler start and where does it end?

Everyone has another idea of a spoiler...for some it's maybe just the ending, for others it's every key scene (how is a key scene defined?), for others it's every scene where something very small but relevant for the story happens (again how that would be defined?).

So some people would add spoiler on the shot, others would want to remove it again...because they think it's no spoiler actually.

With gore and nudity it's usually pretty clear in most cases, either you can see gore / nudity or not.
But with a spoiler it always would depend on the interpretation of the certain person and how this person actually defines a spoiler for himself.

Yes you are right. You might miss a lot of shots by using this option, but you won't see any shots that might "ruin" a movie for you.

My idea of the "spoiler-tag" is not to over-use it on every shot that has a "suprise-moment". But on "big moments" like Jack Dawson drowning in Titanic, the picture of Grace Stewart and her kids in The Others or the shot of the Statue of liberty in Planet Of The Apes to mention a few.

I don't know if it's a good idea, but I thought it might be an idea to discuss it :-)

I also understand that this "filter" might not be to everybody's liking, but like the gore, and nudity filters an option for people who don't want to see spoilers.

As with gore and nudity it also off course has the possibility to be turned on/off.

You mean footage of Movie1 used in Movie2?
Of course, you can upload this as a Movie2 shot, as long as it's presented properly (which means actully taken from Movie2's disc and, therfore, presented in Movie2's aspect ratio).
No special tag is needed. This would be considered a hint.

I'm reopening my own thread for a question. hope thats ok.

My question is: Are there any rules regarding voting on your own shots?

I've seen that the vote count for shots have dropped in the last years, so now only about 40 people vote on most shots dail. So if you give your own shot a high vote (like a 10) this can give your shot a much higher average score and be the decisive factor between going into the FF or go to the Rejected pile.

No, there are no rules. We assume almost everybody votes their own shots 10 (if you rate it lower, why post it? ;)), which negates any advantage.

Wrong: it depends. An easy shot gets more votes than a tough one, and most of these votes count 3 times since everybody solves it. Voting 10 on your own shots has much more effect on difficult ones.

Since the average vote is lower than before (less than 7) and the number of voter quite lower too, a 10 on your own shot has much effect than a few years ago.
