WTM is becoming more popular. It is now most of the time very slow and hangs more and more frequently (several times a day) displaying the beautiful "over capacity"-crocodile.
I got the same problem, but only in regards to the new quest/vault - I've tried to get access several times over the last few days but I always end up with the crocodile, which is very frustrating (I haven't been able to access it since friday night)...
You can reach all shots by adding "/overview" at the end of the URL --> http://whatthemovie.com/vault/18/overview otherwise you'll get the Errorgator.. the contest welcome page doesn't work, dunno why. To be honest, I don't think this page is over capacity?! All other pages are working here.
this morning many pages gave the same results for at least one hour I could not access the New Submission for instance Something must be wrong but we need to wait for Naut to have a look :)
yeah that's mainly because we also get the errogator a lot :( I generally push through shots in the morning before going to work, since latelly I always get the errorgator, I push less and maybe I miss some, it is very much possible :( hopefully a solution is found soon
on a side note: your shots not making it with a high rating has nothing to do with this, it is just that the average rating of the shots going automatically to the FF is really high at the moment, more than 8 ;)
relieved that "it's normal" not able to access! the solution I have right now is not to go live on all NS and just take what is updated on your connection, are not a problem for FF (because there are fewer shots) ;) good day

Just people voting higher, nothing has changed. Scruffy doesn't consider any minimum rating, it just picks the best rated shot each hour out of the last 24 hours. So if your shot used to go through with 7.8 before, it simply meant there wasn't any higher rated shots at that point. Which is not the case at the moment, all the shots about to go to FF at the moment have 7.9 or more Do we have to explain how it works again? :)
How scruffy works is perfectly clear, at least to me, but I am wondering about the high occurence of errorgators lately. Has Naut been able to look into it? For me it started around when the last sidequest went live. And I thought perhaps it was connected to that, but it's still fairly slow. And I don't have the idea that there is a lot more traffic than before.. new snapshots still get about 50 votes after 2 days
I know I'm a bit off topic but I don't want to open a new topic... I haven't been able to upload any new snapshot for the last few years... Anyone else having the same problem or is it me?
@Shayah : I guess you mean "for the last few days" ! I had the same problem, yesterday and two days ago, the uploading process remained blocked to the "5 : Upload", impossible to get into the six. And it has always working then, few minutes after.
Any news about the venue of a new programmer ? I'm fed of the error 500 crocodile :) WTM is a wonderful site owning a unique collection of movie snaps. But it is dying :(
The monster seems to live his own life without us: I got the message by mail that one of my shots timed out and an other one was accepted, without being able to connect to the site. Can't we call the CIA, the MI5, 007 Bruce Willis and Jason Bourne to spot naut and tliff and ask them to trigger the f***in' on/off button of the server ?
it’s very hard for me to bring it up again right now, because I’ve just moved to the US. We’ve wrote tliff couple of mails to help us, but haven’t heard back from him.
