The associative cinema "Les Cinémas Studio" (one of the most important associative cinema in France) is organizing, each year since almost 30 years, a unique event for cinema lovers : a whole night of movies, old and recent, from all countries and genres, 17 films in 7 projection rooms, from 6 pm. to 6 am., for more than 1000 persons.
And for the first time, besides food and covers stands, there will be... a WTM space ! The audience will be invited to test their cinema knowledge playing with Archive shots. I will have the honour to host the space (with help from Hilligoss, Circee and Manue123) and show people our huge shots database.
For this occasion, we are inviting you to join us for this special event, and meet the WTM community "for real", watch movies, chat about cinema...
The night will take place Saturday, June 1st 2013, in Tours (37000 – France). The ticket costs 19 €.
Among all 17 movies, you may watch 5 in a row, on wide screen and in original version, subtitled in french : Suspiria, Volver, Amarcord, Cat People (1942), I Confess, Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid, The Incredible Shrinking Man, Broken Arrow (1950), Zelig...
Tours is 300 km distant from Paris, only 1 hour by train.
maaaaah this sounds really nice :) date sucks, but i'm going to see if i can manage this. need to defense my master thesis aroud this time... i'm from germany. who's too and interested? @Winterwolf, @Pzy maybe? maybe we could get something like a groupticket. also got a car, but i think a trip by it would be very expensive :(
thanks for the link @kinoute. found a friend (an inactive player and realfriend of mine @Schwarzschild) who would travel with me. also checked my options (car, train, plane). the way by plane would be the cheapest turned out so far. berlin-paris (there and back) for less than 120,00 € for each person, even lesser on early booking and specials offers (around 90,00 €). should be no problem to get to berlin, but somebody leading us from paris to tours and back would be awesome :D maybe we could link to some french people from there on? everybody else searching for a way from berlin to france is welcome to affiliate themselves to us :) it could also be a way for people from poland. well, right at this moment i can't promise my appearance but at least i nearly know how to get there :)
edit: you may also should announce the presence of wtm at the film festival on facebook for reaching more people, especially old players who already left but still like wtm get reached that way i guess :)
Good to see that german players are looking for a way to come here ! Please check also the airline "Ryanair", which own a destination here in Tours : http://www.ryanair.com/de There's obviously no departure from Deutchland, but perhabs you can find a fly from somewhere else.
I unfortunatly have to say that we personnaly have no facilites to offer for the night, so if you want to find a place to rest, before or after the event, you should check the hotels located in the center of the city, or Tours youth hostel http://aubergetours.free.fr/
About an announcement on facebook and on the WTM's site, I have already talked about it with MisterZob, I guess we will decide to do it very soon.
I will also give you the entire program soon, please be a little bit more patient ! :)

@LePaposaure : I was not supposed to get back in Tours this week-end, but I'm gonna try. But I won't buy a pass because I'll be so tired, but it would be nice if I can come in just to meet everybody... But I don't know if it's possible to come in (I mean in the hall) without the pass...
The first "WhatTheMovie Real Space" took place last week-end, during a whole night of movies, in a french theatre near Paris. More than 1000 people have participated in this special event, and hundreds of new players have tried WTM in Archives random shots, guessing collectively more than 600 titles. Childrens, old and young adults, movie freaks, casual viewers... Many people have shouted answers all night long, from 6 pm to 6 am.
It was a great pleasure to host the stand with few other WTMers, as Hilligoss, Circee, gargamemel, viaud, Manue123, bius, Timpap, SullivanTours...
Here are some pictures from the night : I hope it will give you some motivation to join us next year !
Posters sells :
LePaposaure, facing an hostile crowd with a modest screen and a tiny keyboard...
Early in the evening, with gargamemel, Timpap and his Team-pap...
Later in the night...
bius, gargamemel and LePaposaure, trying to control the huge amounts of great shots given by the Random Awesome Button...
Will you recognize the title of the actual shot in the screen ?! ^^
And for all WTMers present at the event, a unique WTM's badge !
great job! looks lika a lot of fun :) i'll also look further for the next year! maybe we could organize some similar stand for other festivals? in sept is a german festival called cinestrange. i'll visit it this or that way :) http://www.cinestrange.de/ just an idea
Hi, Papo! I think you did a great job! See the photos made me want to be at the event and I like when you say (and feel) that the WTM is a community because sometimes people forget that. Congratulations again :)
Hey dear WTMovers ! The second and next WTMeeting, during the 30th "Nuit du Cinema", will be organized in Tours (France), June 14th 2014 ! We hope to see you there ! (A new topic will be created when we'll know more about the program)
